Bio

I am a cartoonist and illustrator from New Jersey, USA. Some might say that I got started in cartooning somewhat late in life.

I studied Computer Science at Rutgers University, and I've spent most of my adult life in that field. Yet, I've always had a quirky nature about me, experimenting creatively with in many forms. When I found cartooning, however, it felt like a natural medium for my 'quirk'.

My cartoons appear in various publications, including Airmail, The Times Luxury, The Wall Street Journal, Narrative Magazine, Alta Journal, and elsewhere.

Meet today’s gnome friend, Glint, and her pet crow, Silver. The audio (played during the actual scavenger hunt) describes how Silver brings her a crimson and silver bottle cap. She makes these into crash helmets for her squirrel friends. (You can see a little crash helmet on her work table.)

Meet Archie, the Architect, another friend of “Art”. Archie builds gnome homes. Most homes are tucked away in tree roots or within stone walls. Here, Archie is tending to a scale model of a more elaborate gnome home. I hope you’ll find Archie’s home during the scavenger hunt at the “Art around High Bridge” event (4/11-26th)!

“Chip”, The Woodcarver gnome, is a friend of “Art”, the artist gnome. Art’s friends are part of a clever scavenger hunt that’s planned for this wonderful event. When you find the real gnome home of Chip, a QR code inside will take you to a landing page where you see this and an audio recording of Chip talking about his daily life as a woodcarver. He talks about the sapling, his chipmunk friends and more.

This is a watercolor I painted for the “Art Around High Bridge” experience happening this April 11-26th.

Art and his gnome friends are going to be featured in many ways for the event. Check out more below.

Meet “Art”, the gnome. He happens to be an artist. Gnomes can be seen all around High Bridge, NJ. They live along the nearby Columbia trail, and from April 11-26th, you can see a lot of real art from local artists.

That’s when “Art Around High Bridge” is happening!

A town-wide experience with artwork displayed inside local businesses and outside throughout High Bridge, NJ. From coffee shops to studios, salons to storefronts, the whole town becomes a gallery.

I hope you’ll stop by because High Bridge is a picture perfect Main Street, and it’s also where you can join the Columbia Trail. (Easy and beautiful walking trail).

Some of my original art will join many local artists on display. There are so many events during the two weeks (see link) including an art auction.

Princeton Art Bazaar

I was a participating artist at the Princeton Art Bazaar on May 3rd, 2025. It was such fun. There were over 100 artists, a beer garden, music. It's in the heart of Princeton which is a wonderful place to spend the day.
